Birthday Party FAQs

1. How do I book a birthday party at the museum?

Please submit your inquiry here. You can expect a response about the availability of your date within two business days.

For additional questions, email MaybornBirthdays@baylor.edu or call 254-710-1213 Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Reservations require a non-refundable $150 deposit; the remainder of the reservation fee is due the day of the party.

2. How many guests may attend?

Due to the size of the party rooms, no more than 35 attendees *including family* can attend birthday parties at the Mayborn Museum. The birthday child and any children under the age of 2 do not count towards the 35.

3. Can I see the room before booking?

Yes. Call (254)710-1213 to schedule an appointment.

4. What does the party fee include?

A private birthday party room for 2 hours with early access (30 minutes prior to party start), and admission for up to 35 attendees to the museum

5. What sort of decorations are included in the cost of my party?

You can upgrade to our Wonder Party Bundle for an additional $50. This will include a themed banner, tablecloths, paper goods (for up to 35 people), cake cutter, candles, and matches. Or you may request items individually for an additional charge (i.e. Paper Goods only - $25)

6. What colors are available for my decorations?

We have 5 colors and you can choose up to 2 for your party. The color choices are: red, blue, green, yellow, pink, and purple. If you are unsure of your color choices at time of booking, you may pick them later by contacting 254-710-1213 or email MaybornBirthdays@baylor.edu with your color choice.

7. Can my guests visit the museum after the party is over?

Yes. Your guests are welcome to explore the museum during, or after the party. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

8. Can I bring outside food like pizza?

Food has to be ordered from a Baylor approved caterer (list available upon request). Food warmers are not allowed.

9. What do we do when the party is over?

Please visit the ticketing desk after your party to check out and finish payment.

10. Can I cancel/reschedule a party?
