Lifelong Learning events are open to the public and a great way to learn more about the program before joining as a member. The Events Committee designs coffees, luncheons, and bus trips for each fall and spring.
The coffees are free and open to the public, you are welcome to invite a friend. Trips and luncheons require an active Lifelong Learning Membership and advanced registration. Registration opens up one month prior to the event.

Program: Sergio Ayala, Director of the Gault School of Archaeological Research at UT Austin, will share evidence of people living in Central Texas as much as 20,000 years ago from discoveries at The Gault Site near Florence, TX.

The Sam Houston Memorial Museum tells the exciting history of the first Governor of the Republic of Texas at the site of his original farm, with a stop along the way to see the 67-foot tall Sam Houston statue on a 10-foot granite base. Also visit the Texas Prison Museum that showcases the inner workings and stories of the Texas prison system.

Program: Affectionately known as “America’s Sheriff,” Parnell McNamara has served 44 years in law enforcement as a U.S. Marshall and McLennan County Sheriff. Be there to hear his personal story and how his department has set the standard for addressing human trafficking.
