Blanche M. Largent Children’s Glass Collection is considered to be one of the most complete collections of children’s toy pressed glass in the United States. Donated in 1999 by Mrs. Blanche M. Largent, the collection consists of over 800 pieces of 19th and 20th-century clear and colored glass sets. The different sets include table sets, berry sets, lemonade sets, and condiment sets, plus cake and fruit stands, candlesticks, and miniature mugs. Mrs. Largent’s passions were Baylor University, museums, and her children’s glass, so giving her collection to the university’s museum was natural.
Mrs. Largent also provided the museum with sufficient funds to ensure the proper care and preservation of her beloved collection. To see a portion of this extensive collection, visit the Mayborn Museum’s Blanche M. Largent Tea Room.
