Mayborn Teen Volunteer Program - Become a member of our Teen Team!
The Mayborn Museum Teen Team is a summer-long, application-only, volunteer program for students interested in engaging with museum visitors and learning more about how museums operate. Our Teen Team members get the exciting opportunity to facilitate hands-on activities and develop professional skills that can strengthen resumes and applications. The Mayborn Museum encourages highly motivated students to apply!
Program Overview:
- 40 hours of volunteer service are required to complete the program
- 5-week program (does not need to be consecutive) throughout the summer
- Engage with Mayborn visitors with hands-on activities throughout the museum
Program Requirements:
- Students must be rising 10th – rising 12th graders
- Teens must complete the application process, which includes a teacher recommendation, and an interview in mid-late May
- Homeschooled teens should submit a personal recommendation from a non-family adult
- Selected participants must attend an all-day orientation on Saturday, June 7th
Teen Team members that fulfill the 40-hour requirement will have the opportunity to volunteer throughout the school year. Returning Teen Team members (2nd year participants and up) will have the special opportunity to apply for advanced, behind the scenes volunteer roles.
Applications for the 2025 Mayborn Teen Team will open on March 3rd and close on April 16th. Students selected for the interview round will be notified in early May.
