The Botany Collection at the Mayborn Museum Complex consists of 266 cataloged specimens. The majority of these specimens are wood blocks from numerous species of trees. Other specimens include seeds from India and coffee beans from Tanzania.
Ninety-seven of the wood blocks are from Bahia, Brazil. They were donated to the museum by Rev. Zachary C. Taylor. Rev. Taylor collected the wood samples during his time as a missionary in Bahia beginning in 1882.
