Mayborn Museum to Host Smithsonian Channel Screening Series for America’s 250th Anniversary
The Mayborn Museum Complex at Baylor University will host a special summer screening series featuring programs from Smithsonian Channel in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Presented on select Saturdays from May through August 2026, the series highlights pivotal moments, influential figures, and diverse perspectives that have shaped the United States. Screenings are included with regular museum admission and will take place at the museum.
The lineup includes ten documentaries: A Star-Spangled Story: Battle for America; America in Color: Coming to America; America in Color: Titans of Industry; America in Color: Made in the USA; America in Color: Small Town Life; America’s National Parks at 100; America’s Secret Space Heroes: Space Shuttle; She The People: Votes For Women; The Day We Walked on the Moon; and The Green Book: Guide to Freedom.
Screenings begin Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. and continue weekly, with select schedule adjustments in June and July. All programs are presented in their entirety and include closed captioning.
The Mayborn Museum Complex is a Smithsonian Affiliate and part of a national network of more than 200 organizations. As the only Smithsonian Affiliate in Central Texas, the Mayborn connects the region to Smithsonian resources through exhibitions, educational programming, and collaborative initiatives.
