Opening Spring 2026!

For some 12,000 years, people have lived, and cultures have collided in Central Texas. Drawn to the area by its rich natural resources, people interacted with each other and the environment in ways that shaped both place and people.
In Cultural Crossroads: People and Central Texas, visitors will discover some of the many different groups of people—Indigenous Peoples, Tejanos, European Immigrants, and Enslaved People—who lived in this area before and through the 19th century. Take in and take away stories of people from the past that continue to have resonance and relevance today.
Building renovations will begin the summer of 2025 and the completed gallery is slated to open in the Spring of 2026.
