Vida a Color Exhibit

Our new exhibit, Vida A Color, is a collaboration between artists Ines Alvidres and Eric Linares. Through this colorful and participatory exhibit, both artists hope to bring their traditions to you in the hope that you will experience the power that art can inspire. On October 1, the Mayborn will celebrate a community day with free admission and Meet the Artists programs with Alvidres and Linares.

Community Ofrenda

As we count down the days to Dia de los Muertos, we invite everyone to bring an image or memento of their loved one to place on the Ofrenda. This exhibition, "gives us the opportunity to remember our loved ones as they were in life, as they existed with us... it’s a celebration of life,” says Eric Linares, the artist behind the exhibit.⁣

⁣Linares is a Baylor graduate, artist, and local business owner who contributed his immense knowledge to the creation of the Community Ofrenda exhibition. We hope you have a chance to see his work and immerse yourself in the Ofrenda tradition.

Meet the two artists behind our Hispanic Heritage month exhibits, Eric Linares and Ines Alvidres. There will be an opportunity to meet Linares and Alvidres on Sunday, October 1st, and to learn about their art and cultural traditions.

Meet the Scientist

Interact with scientists from the Baylor Sleep Neuroscience & Cognition Laboratory to learn all about sleep and the sleeping brain. This event is part of our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and work done by Latinx collaborators at the Mayborn.
