Bright Ideas Start Here
Every discovery begins with a question. Every new perspective begins with a story. At the Mayborn Museum, we create opportunities for people of all ages to explore the natural world, discover the cultures that shape our region, and find new ways of understanding the world around them.
Through the Reigniting Curiosity Campaign, we're transforming the Mayborn to inspire discovery, connection, and hands-on learning for generations to come.

Every Bright Idea Starts with Curiosity
A child discovers something unexpected. A family explores a new idea together. A student asks a question that leads somewhere they never expected.
At the Mayborn Museum Complex, those moments happen every day. And because of supporters like you, we can continue creating experiences that inspire people of all ages to discover something new.
Introducing Naturally Texas
As we look ahead to the next phase of our Reigniting Curiosity campaign, we are excited to introduce Naturally Texas, an immersive exhibition that invites visitors to explore the remarkable natural world right here in Central Texas.
Through immersive environments, interactive experiences, specimens, and stories, Naturally Texas will take visitors beyond simply observing nature. They will discover the relationships that make our ecosystems work and explore how we are connected to the world around us.

Discover the Stories Within Our Collections
At the heart of Naturally Texas will be the Mayborn’s extraordinary Strecker Collection, built through more than a century of scientific collecting.
These specimens tell the story of Texas biodiversity across time. They help us understand how species change, how environments evolve, and how scientific collections can inform research and conservation today.
Connecting People to the Natural World
Perhaps most importantly, Naturally Texas will give families a chance to see their own home in a new way.
The prairie. The rivers. The forests. The soil beneath our feet. The plants and animals that share this place with us.
These aren’t distant ecosystems. They are part of our everyday lives.
We depend on the natural systems around us, and we have a responsibility to care for them. Naturally Texas will help visitors become thoughtful stewards of the place we all call home.
Help Us Reignite Curiosity
Your support helps make experiences like this possible.
As a valued Mayborn supporter, you have already helped create moments of curiosity and discovery for our community. A year-end gift will help us continue that work and bring Naturally Texas to life for the next generation of visitors.
We hope you will consider making a gift to support the Mayborn’s Reigniting Curiosity campaign. Together, we can create a place where a child’s question becomes a discovery, where families learn something new together, and where curiosity inspires a deeper connection to the world around us.
Thank you for being part of the Mayborn Museum community and for helping us build what comes next.
